Work
Area
The work area must be clean and sheltered from the elements (roof and
at least three walls), with good footing. Concrete is preferred, particularly
with stall mats.
Either cross ties or a capable horse holder are required. In
any case, someone must always be present to handle the horse.
Access to power and water will be required.
Your Horse
Good manners are essential. Your horse should be accustomed to
being shod, including hot-fitting.
The horse should be clean and groomed, with feet, legs and body dry.
If our appointment is scheduled close to feeding time, please feed
before I arrive. Hungry horses do not stand well, especially when
their neighbors are eating.
If your horse is energetic, lunging before our appointment is recommended.
